Only buy or fill up your vehicle in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening... your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role. A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.
When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. You should be pumping on low mode, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.
One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL. The reason for this is the more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount.
Another reminder, if there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up; most likely the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

Ebates.com: Coupons, Promo Codes and Cash Back Savings!
If you're not using Ebates, then you're not saving as much as you can, and you're not earning cash back from shopping at your favorite online stores. Quit throwing your hard earned cash away, and join Ebates (it's FREE) today! And start saving, plus earning cash back right away!
"Ebates is the pioneer and leader of online cash back shopping. Ebates pays members cash back every time they shop online as well as provide them with the best coupons and deals online. Founded in 1998, Ebates has paid over $100,000,000 in cash to its members. That's why over 12 million people have joined Ebates, and we're excited you are ready to start earning cash back, too." Plus, when you sign-up now, and make a minimum qualifying purchase totaling at least twenty-five dollars ($25.00) within ninety (90) days of becoming a new member, you will receive your choice of a FREE $10 gift card to one of the following: Macy's, Walmart, Target, or Kohl's! CLICK HERE TO GET STARTED NOW! IT'S FREE!
Below is a screen shot of my current pending pay out. You can see that they accidentally errored in my favor, and have accidentally credited me twice for one purchase. No worries though, I'm sure they'll catch it and correct it before I'm paid out. They pay out every quarter (about every 3 or 4 months). And I believe the next pay out date is 3/31/13.
I've chosen to be paid via PayPal, but you can also choose to be paid by check. Walmart pays 4% cash back which you can see came in handy when I was shopping for Christmas gift cards to give as gifts; and InkCartages pays 12.5% cash back. Different cash back amounts are offered for each store.
However, an even bigger savings is the extra sales and discounts you receive by shopping at your favorite online stores through the Ebates links. I received 10% off, plus free shipping (in addition to the 12.5% cash back) from InkCartridges. And I received a small discount and free shipping (in addition to the cash back) on my other purchases from Walmart and Buydig, too! Savings differ w/ each store & some are 50% off or even more!
As if all that isn't enough, Ebates also PAYS YOU $5 for each "qualified referral!" "*A qualified referral is a new member to Ebates referred by you who makes a purchase of $25 or more earning cash back and enters valid profile information [within a certain time limit - currently by 3/31/13]."
Ebates is completely FREE! And you can set your email preferences so they will not spam you (that is unless you like receiving the latest deals in your email - the choice is yours)! I love Ebates and I'm sure you will, too! Click HERE to use my referral link and sign-up today! You'll be glad you did!

The secret to winning giveaways, is really no secret at all. It's simple really... SIMPLY ENTER TO WIN! If you don't enter, you can't win. And the more you enter, the better your chances of winning. Personally, I spend about an hour every day entering giveaways. I've made it a part of my daily routine. It's a chore, but it pays off. I win stuff all the time! And sometimes the things are really nice!
I've put together a huge list of FREE instant win games and sweepstakes that I update almost daily. It takes me about an hour every day to enter everything on the list. I promise you that if you spend the time entering, and I don't just mean one time or one day, but if you make it a part of your regular routine and stick to it, you're sure to win! Here's my huge list of giveaways --> http://1frugalmom.webs.com/apps/blog/show/18384740-free-daily-instant-win-games-sweepstakes- GOOD LUCK!!!
In addition to entering frequently, and as much as possible, here are some more tips...
-- Check your email often! Many giveaways limit the time frame you have to claim your prize. And always check your spam/junk folders b/c many emails from companies go directly into that box.
-- To help locate winning notices, I recommend searching your email every few days by key words like: congratulations, congrats, you've won, you won, you win, winner, prize, fulfillment, and etc. Be sure to check both your inbox, and your spam/junk folder, by those keywords.
-- Always follow the rules. Never try to cheat or you could be disqualified. For example, if the giveaway states "only one entry per household," trust me, they have ways of knowing where every entry came from, and if they received more than one entry from your IP address, you may lose your chance to win.
-- In many cases, you'll only have to enter your info (name, address, etc) the 1st time entering. Then when you return to enter again each day after that, usually all you'll need to enter is the email address you originally used to signed-up. However, in some cases, the entry forms require you to fill it out completely each time. To save time, I use Google Chrome's auto-fill. I believe FireFox may also offer autofill, too. Use it! It's a huge time saver! It also helps if your email address is short, lol. Mine is longer, and it's a pain in the butt to type it out when required.
-- It may help to have a separate, designated, email address just for entering sweepstakes b/c sometimes signing up for newsletters may be required, and/or you may receive a lot of "entry confirmation" emails, and a separate email address will help keep the possible clutter out of your personal box. Just remember to check it frequently (and it's spam folder, too). Also, another benefit of doing this, is that you'll know that any and all emails received in that email account are from your giveaway entries.
-- If you have the option to opt-out of a mailing listing, take it. That means either checking or unchecking a box, or boxes, to stay off their mailing list. Look closely.
-- If you're uncomfortable sharing your date of birth on the entry forms, you can fudge your date by a number or two. For example, if your birthday is 2/22/80, you could say your bday is 2/21/80, or 3/22/80, or 2/22/81, just change one digit that will be easy for you to remember. In most cases, they only request your DOB (date of birth) because you have to be above a certain age to participate, and this date is usually never verified. However, please keep in mind that if you win a big prize like a huge cash amount or vehicle, you may be required to show your ID to claim your prize (although not likely, it could happen). If that were to happen, hopefully because the date would only be one digit off, they would be willing to accept it w/ the slight error assuming it was a simple typo (that's my thoughts anyway).
-- The more effort required to enter a giveaway, the better your chances of winning b/c many others will not put forth the effort to enter. Giveaways like this include things like photo contests, jingle contests, recipe contests, and etc., that require action (instead of just clicking or filling out a short form). Personally, I've won some of my best prizes with giveaways that required a photo entry.
-- Use a FREE Google Voice Number, instead of your home/cell phone number, to have control over unwanted sales calls. Google Voice Numbers can be forwarded to any other number you want, like your home or cell phone, or straight to voice mail (in which case you'll receive an email notification), so callers will never know it's not your real number (and you'll never miss a sweepstakes winning call). Plus, Google Voice Numbers provide the option to BLOCK unwanted calls. So if/when you do get a sales call, you can always block that number to prevent further calls from that unwanted caller. I LOVE Google Voice! And I strongly suggest using it instead of your real/direct number(s). Trust me, you'll thank me later.
In a nut shell:
1.) Enter to win often! Make it a part of your daily routine if possible.
2.) Check email frequently. And don't forget to also check spam/junk folders.
3.) Routinely search your email by key "winning" announcement type words.
4.) Make sure you follow the rules to prevent being disqualified. This should really be #1.
5.) Use auto fill. I use Google Chrome's, it's free & easy. I think FireFox offers it, too.
6.) Set-up a dedicated, short, email address just for giveaways. And don't forget to check it often (along w/ it's spam folder). And opt out of mailing lists to prevent email clutter.
7.) If you're concerned about providing your birthdate, change it by one digit.
8.) The harder the entry requirements, the fewer people will enter, which means a better chance of you winning. Examples: Photo contests, jingle contests, recipe contests, & etc.
9.) Use a FREE Google Voice Number to avoid unwanted sales calls.
NOW GO TRY YOUR LUCK AT MY HUGE, QUICK LIST OF FREE, DAILY, INSTANT WIN GAMES, and SWEEPSTAKES, LOCATED AT http://1frugalmom.webs.com/apps/blog/show/18384740-daily-instant-win-games-quick-list GOOD LUCK!!! Re-Pin this post, here!!

Below is a list of my favorite freebie sites (listed in no particular order). The best thing to do is follow the sites listed below on Facebook by "liking" their Facebook Fan pages. Then that way their posts (& thus awesome deals, aka free stuff) will show up in your Facebook news feed. Half the freebies you'll find are mail offers (fill out a short form online and the stuff comes to you free through the mail. Keep in mind, some mail offers take weeks, sometimes even months, to receive but are often worth the wait).
The other half are free locally via coupons combined w/ sales. These sites will provide links to those coupons, and tell you where the free items are located (ie: Walgreens, CVS, Target, Walmart, etc.). They watch the circulars for sales, and match those sales up w/ available coupons (most can be printed from online), and tell you where to get the stuff for free. (Note: If you're not into using Facebook much, then you may want to consider signing-up for their daily email alerts instead.)
Since following the sites below (for almost two years now), I haven't had to spend $$ on items like shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, body wash, deodorant, or razor blades b/c I've received it all for free! I've received all sorts of free stuff (see pics) including free pizzas from Domino's, PizzaHut, PapaJohn's, and Hungry Howie's; plus lots of free t-shirts, quality make-up, jewelry, books, food products (like coffee, cereal, snacks, energy drinks, etc.), health & beauty products, dog food & products, laundry detergent, air freshener, magazines, countless free eBooks, tampons/pads, vitamins, perfume, and the list goes on! All for FREE! And that's just the beginning!
The sites below have really allowed me to stretch my budget, and live comfortably, on next to nothing. I've also learned many great frugal ideas for re-purposing everyday used items from around the house. These sites have also taught me how to make my own effective home cleaners using everyday household items for pennies on the dollar. The savings is unbelievable!
Also, if you've ever considered blogging, these are great sites to learn from. Many even provide info about blogging on their sites to share w/ their readers. Finding the sites below has been a God send to my family, and I'm certain they'll be a blessing to yours as well!
Without further ado, here are my favorite sites:
I have one more favorite site I’d like to share, but I’m not including it above b/c it’s not a “freebie site.” But I’d like to share it w/ you b/c it’s one of the most awesomely frugal sites I’ve ever seen! It’s full of awesome ideas, and I’m sure you’ll love it! It’s: HOMESTEADING / SURVIVALISIM at https://www.facebook.com/homesteading yes, that’s a Facebook Fan Page, and yes they have also have a dot com website, but I’m not listing that address b/c their dot com address appears to just be a sales page. So follow them on Facebook to gain tons of valuable, priceless actually, wonderfully frugal & creative ideas!
People always ask me where I find the awesome stuff I do, well now you know! Enjoy!
** Please note: I am NOT affiliated w/ any of the sites listed. And this is NOT a sponsored post. The sites listed above have honestly helped me tremendously, and I sincerely hope they'll help you, too! Correction: And I'm CERTAIN they'll help you, too! Don't be stingy, be sure to "LIKE" and "SHARE" this post to also help your family & friends, as well! I'm sure they'll thank you for it later!
If you have any favorite sites you'd also like to share, please feel free to leave them in the comments section below (or here).

Tips for the day! What you need to know before signing-up for FREE offers!
When signing-up for freebies, don't use ur real ph#, nor ur real email addy, either! Instead, use a separate email addy just for junk. And I recommend using a free Google voice ph# to avoid unwanted calls. Otherwise, u may end up w/ tons of calls & emails from online schools, insurance sales people & such, trying to sell u stuff.
If u don't want to set-up an additional email acct & ph #, then at the very least, don't provide ur real ones (use fake ones); but keep in mind, some freebies require email confirmation/subscription, so i think it's best to set-up a freebie email addy. And if u don't want to get a free Google voice #, then provide the # to the local pizza place or w/e lol. But remember, if you're entering to win something, u just might want them to be able to contact u by ph, so i do suggest getting that free Google voice # just in case u win something! Google voice allows u to block #s & forward calls, plus a bunch of other neat things, all for free! :-) Please feel free to share any other tips in the comments section below.
p.s. most of u may already know these things, but i thought it was worth sharing w/ the newbies!

According to our local news: Due to rough surf, cold water & people being out of shape, March is one of the most dangerous months at our beautiful beaches. 51 people needed rescued at Pensacola Beach yesterday! Be safe! Teach yourself about Rip Currents! Florida's 2009 slogan - "Don't fight, swim left or right." And their 2010 slogan - "Swim to the side, to stay alive." And always swim near the life guards!
Pay attention to the flags at the beach (they are there for your safety):
1) Green means Low Hazard, Calm Conditions.
2) Yellow (or Orange) means Medium Hazard, Moderate Surf or Currents.
3) Red means High Hazard, High Surf or Strong Currents.
4) Two Red Flags means the Water is Closed to the Public.

The following is an excellent informative video (less than 5 minutes long) about rip currents, which includes a demonstration using dye in the ocean to show how rip currents move.
